I -think- you should be able to use shift+u to get custom views in MPRs.

Being able to set the handbrake until you started declutching would solve the problem that cue-ball posted. It seems like a reasonable idea, and I do like it, it would definately make drag racing more interesting. However, I have to disagree with Niki. There are times that you have to use the brake right off the start, like when the car ahead of you lags or spins, obviously a restart would solve this, but it's nice to avoid the accident all together and just race.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Hmm... The steering lock when set to 720 degrees is really mushy and it's easy to push the wheel past it. Not sure if this is because I've got the FFB strength set quite low or what, but I was expecting something a bit more effective. Is this normal?

The only solid stops on the DFP are at 270 and 900, everywhere else just uses the FFB motor to stop rotation. I don't think increasing the forces in LFS will help either, because AFAIK, this is something in the Logitech drivers, not LFS.

I'd probably still be flipping back and forth between Racer and NetKar And I'm guessing my GPLrank would be a lot better, too.

<edit>Oh yes, I'd have better grades, too</edit>

Works fine for me. Sorry for my lack of skin and awful driving, I'm on my school laptop using my mouse.

Edited to say. You're pushing in the clutch when you roll down the hill, obviously the limiter will have no effect then, all the pitlane speed limiter does is limit engine RPM, going down that hill with the clutch engaged, engine braking will slow you down, going down the hill in "neutral" basically, the limiter has no effect whatsoever, the car will accelerate down the hill, and go over 80 km/h before it hits the line

Dude, chill. He made a thread posting something he found, maybe it was in the wrong forum, not something worth completely flipping out over.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Yeah but then I'll have a bunch of "spare" rotation that does nothing when driving the MRT etc. I was hoping for a way to switch it on the fly.

oh, whoops. I was responding to Vale, not you. But yes, you can change rotation in the profiler on the fly. I don't even use the logi one, I just use hte windows game controller thing, you can do everything from there and not worry about saving profiles for different games.

Hey, just give it some time, It'll sell, heck, if I hadn't just bought a brand new wheel, I'd buy it. I'm sure it'll go.

That's ummmm, yeah. Very interesting. I'm sure it really improves your power to weight ratio too.

You might as well put it on 720, since none of the cars have more than 720 degrees of steering lock anyway, that way your wheel won't continue turning, even when the one in game has stopped.

the FXO GTR makes a spectacular rallycross car with the slickmod and a proper setup, and it's a nice taste of what a proper rally car would feel like in LFS.

Quote from Don :i guess you dont want perspective distortion on textures ...

Hehe, no, you wouldn't. I said that half jokingly, but sarcasm doesn't really carry too well over the internet. Other than hanging from a basket strung between two poles, I don't know how you could do that, at least not without seeing a ladder or a shadow.

Quote from axus :I presume that a high-end camera like that would be able to save in .raw? That would be preferable. I think we should start with grass textures on one track and see how it goes. I just did a distance measurement using the autox editor and for Blackwood, the grass textures represent anything from ~4.25x4.25m - ~6mx6m. It is gonna be quite difficult getting that big a piece of grass on the camera though... any ideas?

Stand on a ladder, and use a wide angle or fisheye lens

It's happened to me before too, but never on my computer, only on my grandparents. Are you playing with a mouse by any chance? I think it may be you clicking something on the desktop, and having that open. I'm not really sure though. It really only seemed when I was playing S1 with LFSTweak, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

I think it sounds like a good idea. While I personally race with the HUD on because I like seeing the split times, it is visually distracting. It would also be nice to be able to assign a button to bring up the race order, at that point, I'd just race with the HUD off, and bring up the race order when I need it.

Just thought I'd bump this up, get it some more visibility, since it sounds like this is what people were asking for in this thread. http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=44865#post44865

Quote from Hyperactive :Funny, I just happen to have a nice replay of... ehm.. "a race"

One of my first fox races

Now I understand why you stayed back at the start Slow and steady wins the race (avoiding wrecks does wonders, too)

Quote from 5th Earth :DING!

I hear they're trying to improve it for spectators and racers alike... put stands closer to the track and widen/smooth the track in places so it won't be a parade. I live nearby, which is why I thought of posting it.

Here's another one... not exactly a race track, but a very famous location that's related to autosport.

Bonneville Salt Flats

Yes, it's somewhat similar to LFSTweak, in that you can edit the performance of the cars. You can only do it by cartype though, not individual cars. It's not some Nitrous thingy that you just hit a button and go hyperspeed. It's quite fun to use offline, the FXO GTR handles 950hp beautifully

if you have autocluch on, you can still use the clutch whenever you want, just push it in. All autoclutch does for you is clutch during shifts.

You can also clutchless shift in Live for Speed, you just have to match the revs perfectly. It's faster just to use the clutch, plus what's the point of having a clutch pedal if you never use it? If you don't want to use the clutch, just turn autoclutch on, you don't gain anything by having it off.

I thought my FF strength was low compared to most people, but if I turn it up that high, it can rip the wheel right off my desk LOL.
